

ABOUT
FOTINOS TSAKOPOULOS WAS BORN IN ATHENS, GREECE,
and grew up in Germany. Being strongly attracted by Jazz-Music, he starts
taking saxophone lessons as a teenager. He later enters Medical School in Jena, Germany, but his urge for music is stronger! He decides to become a professional saxophonist and enrols in the Jazz Department of the ATHENAEUM Conservatory in Athens, Greece, graduating in 2008.
He has been active in the music scene of Athens since 2005, where he was member of several groups. In 2011 he participated in the ATHENS FESTIVAL playing the music for a contemporary dance-performance. He has joined twice (2006 & 2007) the International Jazz Workshop "SIENA JAZZ" in Italy, where he was awarded a scholarship. Furthermore, he has also been teaching privately and in music schools.
His love for African music & culture brought him to the famous archipelago of Cabo Verde, a tiny country with a huge musical tradition. He spent the winters of 2019 & 2020 there, working with local bands and performing for world-renowned hotel brands.
Since 2009 his summer residence is on the glorious island of Santorini, Greece.
There he regularly performs for weddings and all kinds of private and public events.
Over the years, Fotinos has gained extensive experience in playing at weddings and other social gatherings. His priority has always been to combine the art of music with the art of entertainment. He knows how to keep his audience happy, how to create emotions, how to transmit the fire of music to people's souls! Moreover, his professionalism and positive mind allow him to adapt to all kinds of situations. The final result is a well-organised and dynamic performance that leaves the crowd wishing for more!
